I just got back from Seattle, where I took part in the annual Bug Blast event at the Burke Museum. I drew insects and talked to children and their parents about what I was doing, what the kids were doing, insects in general, how cool insects are, how cool the kids' drawings were, etc.
Also at the event were other members of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators Northwest, and it was very fun to see them again. I'm always in awe when I watch scientific illustrators work. The level of careful precision and expertise with tools is always amazing to see.
