Bathing Sheathbill

from $35.00

Right below the iconic fuel tank that has an orca and the words "Palmer Station" painted on it, there's a little cinderblock foundation that was going to be a pumphouse at one time.  The pumphouse was never built, and the foundation fills with fresh water when it rains and snows.  This turns it into the ideal birdbath for sheathbills.  And it must be said, they often could use a bath- snow white feathers are pretty, but they really show what messy eaters these birds are.
